Today is World Bee Day

Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities. To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day.

How to Help Bees:·

·       Buy, grow, use, demand more organic

·       Permanently dispose of products containing neonicotinoids

·       Plant more natives, especially early and late bloomers & purchase plants and seed from growers who don’t use neonicotinoids

·       Leave some bare ground undisturbed and dead hollow stalks for pollinator habitat; practice no till

·       Allow diversity in your lawn; all blooms feed somebody

·       Buy local honey. It supports your local beekeepers
